- VI. This is an ongoing workshop, depending on the cost HAUC may decide to implement this workshop as an integral ongoing program or for a shorter duration of time.
- Depending on the specifics of the writing and or mentoring program implemented.
January 2012 – Dr. Yves Jean, Psychologist will be a guest speaker, and discuss his personal journey into the medical field as well as answer inquiries from the youth on the appropriate preparation and procedure to enter a career in the medical field.
January 2012 – Students will view a documentary as presented by Mr. Clement Chrispin
to be followed by discussion.
February 2012 – Accompany students to The New York Historical Society, NYC to view thecurrent exhibition, “World Revolution” which focuses on the Haitian Revolution- The NY Historical Society will offer an educational portion to theprogram as well.
February 2012 - There will be a presentation (by youth) for Black History Month.
March 2012 – Lou Joseph, artiste will present some of his works to the youth and discuss his passion and route into the art world.
March 2012 – Scholarship interviews for high school seniors will commence.
April 2012 – TBA
May 2012- Presentation of Scholarship Winners at HAUC Annual Luncheon
June 2012- Family Workshop and Presentation – Parents/Guardians will participate as the youth make a brief presentation, this will also provide a Q/A Forum for parents/guardians
September 2012- Registration
October 2012- Historically Black College Tours for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors
November 2012- Education Forum
December 2012- Annual Christmas for the Children Event
